Open Season on Donkeys

[T]here is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it! And I'll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and LIFE... I'll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won't deride them.

But I won't do it from the Governor's desk. – Excerpt from Sarah Palin’s resignation speech

I have been a quitter. I dropped out of two colleges without earning a degree, walked away from two businesses, one of which was highly successful, and went through a divorce. I know quitting. I am very good at it. But every time I quit, new doors opened and new life adventures began.

Last week Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska. In other words, she quit. I am a huge Sarah Palin fan and it’s no big deal to me that she quit.  Quitters understand the quitting process completely.

What is most interesting is Sarah Palin's enemies’ reaction to her resignation. The very people who attacked her relentlessly for the purpose of destroying her political career are now attacking her for doing exactly what they’d hoped she’d do. That’s the way with liberals and progressives. If they fear you, they go all out to destroy you.

Last night my wife and I took in a movie. (This is going somewhere, trust me.) The film was about a successful business executive who lived in an expensive suburban home with a beautiful wife and a young son. Every thing was going well for him until his firm hired a temp that quickly became attracted to him. He tried hard to discourage her advances and, embarrassed by her attention, he tried to hide the situation from his colleagues and his wife.

But the attraction became an obsession. She began to stalk the executive, even entering his home when he and his wife were away. At one point she spirited the executive’s son from the home right under the nose of a babysitter. That was the last straw. The executive’s wife telephoned the stalker and said, “You may be crazy … but if you come into my home again I’ll show you what crazy is, Bitch.” Later she encountered the stalker and proceeded to punch her lights out during the film’s cinematic final scene.

During the movie I couldn’t help think about Sarah Palin. Since she became the GOP’s Vice Presidential nominee she and her family have been ridiculed, verbally abused, and lied about. The pundits and their media cohorts called her stupid, a diva, and crazy. Her enemies accused her of using her children as props for her political aspirations. Her oldest daughter, Bristol, was falsely named as the infant Trig’s real mother and has been portrayed as a hormone-crazed promiscuous teenager.

I believe that on June 22, when David Letterman quipped that Sarah Palin’s fourteen year old daughter, Willow, was "knocked up" by Arod during a Yankees game, Sarah finally said, “Enough is enough. You touched my family for the last time. Now I’m gonna show you what crazy is, Bitch.”

Crazy like a fox, Sarah Palin is not the quitter that some people think she is. She bought her license and armed herself to the teeth. She walked out of the Alaska Governor’s mansion to go donkey hunting where the donkeys roam; on the plains of the blue states in the lower forty-eight.

By shedding the encumbrances of governorship, she has freed herself to bag a few trophies. Look out, you donkeys; Sarah Palin is your worst nightmare. She will track you down, expose you in your lair, and take you out.

No, Sarah Palin hasn’t quit. She has just begun the hunt.

I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska - or outside Alaska.

I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska - or outside Alaska.

So SP is the crazy bitch who's going to go postal on half the country? And you're somehow, pleased by this?

    How very, very insane.

We liberals don't fear Sarah Palin; we actually find her to be tremendously entertaining (at least this liberal does). I fear Mitt Romney as a GOP presidential candidate far more than I fear Sarah Palin as a GOP presidential candidate.

  • Frank-ohh  - Palin article

I get a kick out of how some libs can read an entire article, miss the point completely, site a phrase taken entirely out of context and buid an indictment of the whole article based on that single phrase. In no way does the article imply that Palin is going postal and actually killing donkeys. That would be downright silly. The crazy-bitch-hunting-donkeys anology is a metaphor. You see, donkeys are symbolic of democrats and the crazy bitch is that way because people picked on her kids. Get it?

  • US Labor  - I like Sarah

I am a Democrat and I must say I really enjoy Sarah Palin. She is always good for a laugh and I just love the way she shoves those pretty feet of hers in her mouth on a regular basis.

The only people as crazy as Sarah are Republican Latinos. They really believe they are welcome as equals by the party of Pat Buchanan, Jeff Sessions, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and especially the Great Murderer of Central Americans, Ronald Reagan.
