Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic was officially served her papers and is expected to be in court this Thursday at 2:45 pm. Jason Auerbach, a former volunteer for Bill Buresh, filed a motion for a temporary injunction against Dimitrijevic and her two campaign committees - a PAC and a reelection committee. Aurebach is suing Dimitrijevic for injunctive relief alleging illegal coordination between her two campaign committees.
Wisconsin State Statute 11.10(4) states, "No Candidate may establish more than one personal campaign committee." Auerbach told El Conquistador earlier, "When the same people in her campaign are the same people in her PAC, that alone is at minimum grounds for allegation."
As we reported earlier, part of the confusion began because Supervisor Dimitrijevic put herself and her treasurer in control of both committees. Dimitrijevic started a Political Action Committee (PAC) to help elect younger and more "progressive" candidates to the County Board. Auerbach has documentation showing that her reelection committee and her PAC held a fundraiser on the same day at the same restaurant. Both committees also post identical messages on Facebook with identical time stamps. Auerbach believes this is grounds for a lawsuit. Thursday, we will find out if his case has any merit. Stay tuned.
