Remember that pesky little pension scandal in Milwaukee County back in 2001? You know, the one that has cost the county hundreds of millions of dollars? Tom Ament was Milwaukee County Executive at that time. The unions loved Mr. Ament because he was in their back pocket. His actions led to higher wages, extravagant benefits and million dollar backdrop pensions. He resigned in disgrace for his part in the pension debacle.
His name just popped back up in the news. It seems Tom Ament is supporting Jim Sullivan for Milwaukee County Executive. He’s even donated money to his campaign. Is there any wonder that AFSCME has gone “all in” on supporting Jim Sullivan? They see this as an opportunity to have Tom Ament back in the house.
