Let's Hear it for Hispanic Culture!
Ana Lannes Puig, a Latina After my own Heart
Below is the story of a Brazilian woman that epitomizes
the work ethic of the Hispanic culture. Today, we witness an ideology that dangerously pushes and pulls against the fabric of our culture. The entitlement ideology that ethnicity is a handicap, and that we need reparations in order to be successful in American society is a dangerous assault on the very hallmark that has set apart Hispanic culture from the culture of other ethnicities. Hispanics are a proud people. We don't want handouts, and we certainly don't want your reparations. We want
our standing in society to be merit-driven, not the result of pity and special government intervention. The more we let big government play favorites with our social status, the more we destroy the hallmark values transmitted by our Hispanic culture.
