Abrahamson declares debate victory 4 hours in advance

Shirley AbrahamsonMar. 27, 2009 8:00 p.m.

Madison -- Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson has seen the future, and she likes it.

"In the sixth and final debate of the campaign, Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson once again demonstrated her fair and independent approach to protecting Wisconsin families and leading the state's Supreme Court," a campaign press release said.MP> Problem is, the release came out more than four hours before Abrahamson debates challenger Randy Koschnick, a Jefferson County Circuit Court judge. (The release was sent to reporters at 2:30 but embargoed from release until 8 p.m., after the televised We the People/Wisconsin debate).

Not only did Abrahamson know what she was going to say, she knew what her opponent would say.

Koschnick "again used partisan and divisive tactics to mislead voters about Justice Abrahamson's record," the release said.

Expect a release about Abrahamson's victory on April 5 -- two days before the election.
